Avocet Replacement 35mm Backset Multipoint Gearbox - Lift Lever Double Spindle

Avocet multipoint gearboxes are riveted onto the strip, so if you plan to use this gearbox as a replacement or to swap the centre gearboxes, it is highly recommended to seek professional installation. This is more complex than other centre gearbox replacements.

Key Features:

• Avocet gearboxes have a unique design, measuring 218mm in height and backset + 15mm.
• The standout feature is the large cut-out in the top corner, which extends below the latch. This helps with fitting handles where the screws are positioned above the lever.
• The latch is 29mm high, the deadbolt is 34mm high, and there is 82mm between the top of the deadbolt and the bottom of the latch.
• Unlike traditional gearboxes, Avocet gearboxes are held by arms that connect using circlips, not screws or rivets. While it is technically possible to remove a gearbox from a full Avocet lock, replacing the entire unit is recommended.
• Note: The design of the connecting arms has changed over time. Older models have flat clips, while newer versions feature a curved arm located lower down. This makes swapping old gearboxes with new ones incompatible. This product will only replace the latest version of the case.
• When measuring the backset, allow 2-3mm for the faceplate. For example, a 35mm backset gearbox will measure 32mm when detached from the strip.
