Winkhaus uPVC Split Spindle Pack – Door Handle and Lock for Key-Only Entry

The Winkhaus split spindle pack suits uPVC door handles and locks with a key-only entry system. This pack allows a door lock system with an in-built split spindle mechanism to function normally from the inside. However, from the outside, the door lock will not allow the latch to be operated via the handle. To retract the latch, a key must be used, allowing access.

This feature is particularly useful for security, ensuring the door can only be opened by someone with a key. When installed on the appropriate lock system, it converts the door lock into a key-only entry system. The split spindle pack is compatible with most uPVC door systems featuring a split spindle gearbox mechanism.

Fitting Tip:

Spindles can be easily trimmed to fit your door's thickness. If necessary, a small packer can be added to the end of the handle to extend them.

How to Identify a Split Spindle Lock:

To determine if your lock is a split spindle type:

1. Remove the door handle by unscrewing the handle screws from the inside.
2. Examine the mechanism where the spindle passes through.
3. Look into the spindle hole – if it appears split into two sections, the lock requires a split spindle pack.

Important Note:

If, after installation, the latch operates from the outside but not the inside, an adjustment is needed to correct the operation.
