The Trojan Patriot Plus is a high-security 3D adjustable flag hinge for modern uPVC doors and compatible composite doors. Supplied pre-assembled and ready to fit, it pairs a slim, unobtrusive appearance and concealed fixings with precise in-situ adjustment and a patented anti-lift security feature for use as part of a tested door assembly.
Because it is non-handed, one hinge suits both left- and right-hung doors — ideal for van stock and replacements. Full 3D adjustment lets you correct a dropped door, tighten a poor seal or square up a leaf without lifting it off, so jobs and call-outs are finished faster and cleaner.

Choosing the right step height
The step height (also called the upstand or backset) is the distance from the outer face of the frame to the top edge of the door sash where the hinge sits. Match it to one of the three sizes:

Fitting overview

Prepare & drill. Set the Patriot Plus jig to the required step height, clamp to frame and sash, and drill the location-pin holes with a 4.0mm drill bit. |

Fit to frame. Locate the frame plate on its pins and fix into the reinforcing using suitable 4.8mm screws (length to suit your profile and steel). |

Fit to sash. Hang the leaf onto the pivot, fix the sash plate into the pre-drilled holes, then clip the cover into place. |

Adjust. Set height and lateral with a 5mm hex key and compression with a 4mm hex key, spreading the movement evenly across all hinges. |

Removing a door (anti-lift): the door cannot simply be lifted off. Open the door, fully unscrew the self-retaining cover screws on each hinge, then pull each flag cover towards the centre of the door until it clicks — only then can the leaf be lifted off the pins.

Which step height do I need — 16, 19 or 22mm?
Measure the step from the frame face to the top of the sash where the hinge sits and choose the closest size, or match your existing hinge. If in doubt, send us a photo and measurement and we’ll confirm.
Is the Patriot Plus handed?
No — it is non-handed, so the same hinge works on left- and right-hung doors, simplifying stock and replacements.
Is this hinge PAS 24?
It is PAS 24 accredited when used as part of a suitable tested door assembly. The hinge on its own is not a standalone PAS 24 certificate — PAS 24 applies to the complete doorset.
Will it fit a composite door?
Yes — it suits many composite doors that take this style of flag hinge with suitable steel reinforcing and a 16–22mm upstand. Confirm the profile and reinforcing with your door supplier first.
How do I take a door off Patriot Plus hinges?
Because of the anti-lift feature you can’t just lift it off. Open the door, fully unscrew the self-retaining cover screws, release each flag cover until it clicks, then lift the leaf off the pins.
